  Microcellular Urethane Foam

Microcellular urethane foam is ideal for a wide range of applications including gasketing and sealing, cushioning. The material is extremely resilient and has a strong resistance to compression as well as good vibration dampening and impact absorption. It also has low-outgassing properties that reduce the likelihood of contamination.

Key Features / Benefits

  • Strong resistance to compression set
  • Smooth and clean die cutting
  • Easy to fabricate and shape
  • Low-outgassing reduces contamination and the material will not become brittle and crumble
  • Closed cell structure is air and water tight
  • Flame retardant
  • Numerous formulations
  • Abrasion resistant
  • Excellent performance over broad temperature range.
  • Good chemical resistance.
  • Long service life.

Reed Rubber sells and converts microcellular urethane materials such as Poron and Enlighten U.

Poron® Cellular Urethane Foams

Poron® manufactures a wide selection of urethane foams that range from very low density, soft materials for seals to firmer materials used more extensively in gasketing applications. Reed Rubber has the capability to convert most of the Poron materials that are available.

Enlighten-u®

Enlighten-u is another popular microcellular urethane foam that we at Reed Rubber convert. Referred to as our "QU" series foam, many of these materials are stocked in rolls and can be quickly converted into tape or die-cut products.
